Two routes, no retainer.
Paid at design approval.
Following our meeting on 15 October. Where we have field sales staff, our team runs the sale from the first call to a signed application. Everywhere else, we refer qualified leads with a booked appointment to your agents. No retainer on either route. A deal is paid once the customer reaches design approval, which follows credit approval.
Our field sales where we have staff. Your agents everywhere else.
The leads are ours either way, and so is the marketing cost. Where the customer lives decides who sells to them.
Field sales, where we have staff
Johannesburg and Pretoria today. We qualify the lead and assign it to an appointed field sales agent in our group, who visits, quotes and guides the customer through your application.
Referred appointments for your agents
Areas where we have no field sales staff and your agents can attend. Cape Town, Bloemfontein, and Vereeniging and the Vaal come up regularly, with KwaZulu-Natal and other areas where you have representation. We qualify the customer and book the appointment. Your agent sells.
We may sell anywhere we have field sales staff, and may open in further areas, including Cape Town, on notice. Until we do, we're happy to work with your agents there under Route B. If we have more leads in our own regions than our field team can handle, we may route the overflow to your agents under Route B, where you have capacity.
We run the sale. You approve and install.
We find and qualify the customer
From our own database and campaigns, at our cost, to the qualified lead definition in section 03. Each lead goes to an appointed field sales agent in our group.
Our agent visits and quotes
Our agents sell as an independent sales operation under our own brand. The first quote comes from our group's quoting system, priced on your current packages, so every quote is tracked on our side.
We guide the application
When the customer is ready to apply formally, we take them through your application and credit check, on site or by link, under your referral code and our agent's name. Your brand enters the sale at the formal quotation of the selected promotion, or at application. If the customer needs time, we stay with them.
You approve, design and install
Credit review, technical design approval, scheduling, installation and the subscription. The customer and the recurring revenue are yours.
- An approved deal is a signed application, submitted under your referral code, that has reached design approval. Design approval follows credit approval, so the customer is approved and pending installation.
- Payable on design approval, not installation. Installation scheduling sits with you, and the warranty in section 05 protects you if the customer cancels.
- Our quote, your application. The referral code and the agent's name connect the two, and you give us access to track the outcome of every lead.
Clear rules on what's payable, and when
We earn at the point of transfer, and we check every lead before it goes. Once it's transferred, the lead is yours to attend and convert.
What a qualified lead is
- Lives inside an area that can be serviced.
- Spends more than R1,500 a month on electricity.
- Understands the offer.
- Wants to see an agent.
Measured at the point of transfer, and quality-assured by us before the lead is sent.
When a lead is payable
- R400 on transfer, counted on the transfer date, which never changes even if the appointment is rescheduled. Booked 2 to 10 days ahead. Urgent appointments are escalated to your named sales contact.
- A lead already in your system in the last 90 days isn't billable. Tell us within 48 hours, with the date it entered your system.
- If you believe a lead didn't qualify, for any reason, raise it within 30 days of transfer. We check the QA record. If it qualified, it stands. If not, we credit it in full.
When a deal is payable
- R4,000 on design approval, which follows credit approval, the same test as Route A.
- On any lead that reaches it within 12 months of its transfer date.
- Accrues in the period (16th to 15th) it reaches design approval, goes on that period's statement and is paid by month end.
- Covered by the refund if the customer cancels before installation, so it's a cash-flow item for you, not a bottom-line risk.
After transfer
- The lead is yours. Rescheduling, attending and converting it sit with your team. We don't take part in booking changes.
- No requalifying. Checking, rechecking and requalifying a qualified lead before the appointment reduces conversion. Your agent calls the customer the day before, or on the day, and attends.
- Face to face. The consultation happens in person. Leads aren't quoted over the telephone, and every quote comes back to us with a quote ID and the agent who quoted.
- Drop-off is expected. Some customers fall away between transfer and the appointment, and between the appointment and a quote, as in any contract sales environment. That's built into the R400 and the cost per deal in section 04. If cancellations before the appointment go above 10% of a period's leads, we'll review it with you.
- Named agents on both sides. You name the agents who receive our leads, and we name ours, each with your agent reference. We track conversion per agent and share it with you. On Route B we may take an agent with poor conversion off the programme, so leads go to the agents who convert them.
- Daily status file. Every lead gets your reference number on transfer. You send a daily file, or a download on your website, showing each lead's status, the quote ID and quoting agent, and the product and monthly rate quoted or applied for.
- Outcome checks. If a lead is reported cancelled or not interested, we may contact the customer to confirm the outcome, so no deal falls through the cracks on either side.
Built around your R8,000 number
You told us your cost to acquire is falling and you want efficiency built in. Route B does that on its own. At a 1 in 10 conversion it lands at R8,000 a deal, and every point of conversion your team adds brings it down. These figures follow the conversion rate you set in the Route B calculator above.
Flat. Covers our agent, travel, quote and application support, so there's no field sales cost on your side.
The average if half your approved deals come from each route, at 10% conversion on Route B.
10 qualified leads at R400 per approved deal, plus R4,000 on approval, at 10% conversion. Lower if you convert better.
A 12-month warranty on every deal
You credit vet and design every customer before they reach approval, but we still stand behind them for their first year. You won't be left paying for customers who don't perform.
- Cancelled after design approval, before installation. We refund the full fee for that deal, for any reason, if the cancellation is within 30 days of design approval. This gives you up to a month to install a design-approved deal. After 30 days without an installation, a cancellation isn't refunded, because installation timing sits with you.
- Warranty on installed deals. If the customer's contract is cancelled and the system is removed within the first 12 months:
- Route A: we refund the share of our fee for the debit orders not collected.
- Route B: we refund the R4,000 deal fee in full, however many debit orders were collected. The R400 lead fees aren't refundable.
- The system must be removed from the customer's premises. We take no responsibility for outstanding debit orders on customers approved through your credit process, but we refund on a system that has been removed. You send a statement showing how many debit orders were collected.
- Not covered: cancellations where the cause sits with Wetility, such as a faulty installation or a service failure.
- How refunds happen. Credit notes are deducted from our next statement, or paid back if there's no further statement.
A Route A customer pays 6 of their first 12 debit orders. You cancel the contract, remove the system and send us the statement. 6 of 12 collected is 50%, so we refund half the deal fee. At R10,000, that's a R5,000 credit note.
A Route B customer pays 8 of their first 12 debit orders. You cancel the contract, remove the system and send us the statement. Route B refunds are flat, so we refund the full R4,000 deal fee as a R4,000 credit note. The lead fee stays.
Running to 31 March 2027, with the review from early March*
A field sales operation needs enough appointments and enough time for customers to sign, be approved and pay before the numbers mean anything. So the pilot runs for five months, not a week.
Set up and first visits
NDA signed, the SLA agreed, a tutorial on your systems and products, agents named on both sides, then the first Route A visits and Route B referrals.
Ramp up
More appointments and more agents as the process holds. Our call centre closes on 20 December.
Bed it down
Call centre and field team reopen on 7 January. February gives both sides a clean month to bed the process down after the holidays.
Review together
Data to 28 February: total approved deals from both routes, leads transferred, appointments, quotes, applications, cancellations, cost per deal and conversion by agent. March runs on while we agree the terms for the rest of 2027.
* Why March. December and January are the hardest trading months of the year. Customers travel, decision-makers are away, credit and installation teams run lean, and our call centre closes from 20 December to 7 January. Reviewing on data to 28 February gives us a full month of normal trade to judge by. The pilot keeps running to 31 March, so nothing stops while we agree the next step.
A mutual NDA and a short SLA
Seven things to get going
A referral code for our referrals and applications. Tell us how you'd like to issue it.
A daily status file, or a download on your website, for every lead under our code, with the product quoted and the status.
Logins, a tutorial and tracking access for your application tools, with our agent's name captured on each application.
Current packages and pricing, so our quoting system quotes exactly what you sell, and your savings tool.
Your named agents for Route B leads, and an agent reference for each of ours.
Product training for our admin, sales and marketing teams.
A named sales contact for escalations, urgent appointments, and larger or commercial enquiries.
Simple terms
A monthly cycle. Leads transferred and deals approved from the 16th of one month to the 15th of the next are tallied. We send you the statement, and you pay it by the last day of that month.
Commercial terms survive. Any referenced lead reaching design approval within 12 months of its transfer date is payable even if the pilot ends, and the daily status file continues on open leads after notice.
Month to month during the pilot, on 30 days' notice either way.
Your leads are yours alone. A lead or application we give you isn't referred to any other solar provider. The agreement itself is non-exclusive, and we also run campaigns for CCTV, alarms, air conditioning and heat pumps. The only exception is a customer who fails credit vetting or design approval, or whom you've classified as "no further opportunity" for rental. We may reroute those customers and make them other offers.
A mutual NDA, binding once signed, with 12-month non-solicitation and non-circumvention: no approach to each other's staff or sales agents, and no going around each other on customers introduced here. It underpins the SLA.
Independent businesses. This is a collaboration. It doesn't create a partnership, joint venture or agency.
Let's get the first agents trained
The proposed SLA sets these terms out in full, and the pilot confirms them. The mutual NDA is signed alongside it. Download both below, and once they're signed we book the training.
